We are the offspring of God: Acts
17:24-28
In other words, we are His product! And He has chosen to make us
to exit forever. Notice what will happen on the judgment day: "34 Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand,
Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world... 41 Then
shall He say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from Me, ye cursed, into
the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels, 46 And these
shall go away into eternal punishment: but the righteous into eternal life. (Matthew 25: 34,41,46)
Do we believe what the inspired Word of God teaches concerning
the soul of man? "But there is a spirit in man, and
the breath of the Almighty giveth them understanding." (Job 32: 8)
"But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not
read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, 32 I am the God of Abraham,
and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but
of the living." (Matthew 22:31,32)
"Wherefore we faint not; but though our outward man is
decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day. (II Corinthians 4:16)
Since we have a spirit that will not be dissolved upon physical death, we need to realize the great importance of doing God's will: Ecclesiastes 12:13,14
Do we have godly fear toward our Creator? "And I say unto you My friends, Be
not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they
can do. 5 But I will warn you whom ye shall fear: Fear Him, who after He hath
killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear Him. (Luke
12:4,5)
Our souls will answer to God in the last day: "For we must all be made manifest
before the judgment-seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things done
in the body, according to what he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Which will it be for you and for me? Eternal life, or, eternal
punishment?
