2. Miracles also show the Divinity of the Bible.
It is most difficult for anyone to deny that God through His Son performed miracles in the first century. Why were these miracles performed? The Bible tells us that they were primarily to confirm the word spoken by Jesus and the inspired apostles.
John 20:30,31a. This also included the gifts of the Holy Spirit which were given to many christians in the first century through the laying on of the apostles hands:
Mark 16:14-20; Hebrews 2:1-4; Acts 8:17,18.No one
today can have these supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit because they have not had the laying on of the Apostles hands! These supernatural gifts were to be done away when that which was perfect was come: I Corinthians 13:8-13. That which was perfect was the completed Word of God, the New Testament: James 1:25. We are to contend for it: Jude 3.3. The Scriptures also verify the fact that they are
God-breathed:

a. Therefore we find: II Timothy 3:16,17; I Peter 1:22-25
b. The things that Jesus Christ brought to us came directly from God the Father: John 12:48-50
c. These teachings from God the Father were given to the Apostles whom Jesus chose, and written down under inspiration, so that you and I could have access to them even today:
John 16:7-15; I Corinthians 2:10-13
