MATTHEW
17: 1-5
1
And after six days Jesus taketh with Him Peter, and James, and John his
brother, and bringeth them up into a high mountain apart: 2 and He was
transfigured before them; and His face did shine as the sun, and His garments
became white as the light. 3 And behold, there appeared unto them Moses and
Elijah talking with Him. 4 And Peter answered, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is
good for us to be here; if thou wilt, I will make here three tabernacles; one
for Thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. 5 While he was yet speaking,
behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold, a voice out of the cloud,
saying, This is My
beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him.
COLOSSIANS
1:18-23
18
And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn
from the dead; that in
all things He might have the preeminence. 19 For it was the good pleasure of the Father that
in Him should all the
fulness dwell; 20 and through Him
to reconcile all things unto Himself, having made peace through the blood of
His cross; through Him, I say, whether things upon the earth, or things in the
heavens. 21 And you, being in time past alienated and enemies in your mind in
your evil works, 22 yet now hath He reconciled in the body of His flesh through
death, to present you holy and without blemish and unreproveable before Him: 23
if so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and
stedfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard, which
was preached in all creation under heaven; whereof I Paul was made a minister.
