THE SOUL OF MAN

I know, if you can't see it, it doesn't exist, right? That's what so many people tell us when we try to talk about our soul. You see, if we don't have a soul, then, there isn't a God, because the teaching that man is more than just a physical body like the animals comes from the Bible!

And if you don't want to believe that the Bible is the product of the Creator, then anything peculiar to it just can't be correct! But if you believe in God's Word, the Bible, then you will definitely believe that we are a two-fold being, made up of a physical body, which we are born into, and a soul, or spirit, which has been created by the Creator Himself, after His own image:

Genesis 1:26, 27; Psalms 139:13-16

Upon physical death, "...the dust returneth to the earth as it was, and the spirit returneth unto God who gave it." (Ecclesiastes 12:7)

Jesus knew this: "And Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit: and having said this, He gave up the ghost." (Luke 23:46)

Stephen realized this: "And they stoned Stephen, calling upon the Lord, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit" (Acts 7:59)
